Throughout my years at KU, I’ve been a part of several organizations. I was the treasurer for the Latin American Student Union, a student ambassador for the University, a member of National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) and served in the student senate of the Multicultural Greek Council. I was also in the Phi Iota Alpha fraternity where I was able to be the treasurer before being elected as president.

My favorite class was Economics with Brian Staihr — every class felt as if I was in a movie with his kind of teaching. He taught with a passion, and I truly always looked forward to going to his class. There are things I learned from him that I apply to my everyday life.

To the incoming class, you’re in a new place around a bunch of new people! Get involved, rebrand yourself, meet new people. Do not fall behind. It is hard to come back from it in the long run. Ask for help early on and ask questions. Most importantly, have fun!
