Calob Adams stands against a purple and yellow wall with his hands held together in front of his chest.

My most memorable moment has to be my trip to Costa Rica when I studied abroad over winter break. My favorite tradition at KU is the events they host to welcome in the winter and spring sport such as Late Night at the Phog. It is a true spectacle. Our new football coach, Coach Miles, has also made the Spring Game exciting to attend. During my years at KU, I was involved in the National Association of Black Accountants, NABA, for two years where I served as their treasurer before becoming the president the next year.

I want to thank Director Johnson for impacting my experience at KU in such a positive way. While we may not have always agreed on everything, I am thankful for his tough love while simultaneously not ever filling my head with doubt. MBSP has been vital to my growth as a college student and young adult. It opened doors I would have never gone through otherwise, and it connected me with a whole host of connected individuals. I am grateful for this program.

Thinking about leaving KU, I will miss the environment and the atmosphere of the city and the university. That feeling of finishing an exam, surviving finals and midterms, the weekends that made the hard work worth it. I will miss all of it. My best advice is simple: Time-manage well. Prioritize your time and you will be fine, but don’t forget to stop stressing and enjoy your time as a KU student. I have spent 5 years here, and while there are some things I would change, I feel I have grown a lot as a person. I am proud to have been a Jayhawk and MBSP scholar. I look forward to whatever my future brings.
